Hey there folks,
I finally decided to use some of my Christmas money to buy myself a 7200rpm travelstar, and am trying to decide what to do with the old drive. The MacAlly phr250cc enclosure looks nice, anyone have any experience with this or any other enclosures? Feedback is much appreciated. Thanks and Happy New Year!

I bought a Firewire casing from OWC and use the old drive for backups. Works great.

I have a 10 gig hard drive from my 500 mhz ibook sitting on a shelf. I replaced it with a 40 gig.

I plan on putting the 10 gig into my orange clamshell ibook which only has a 3 gig hard drive in it. That way it would at least be usable again to some degree.

When my old Pismo G3 20Gb filled up I replaced it with a 60Gb Travelstar and bought a transparent Oxford bridge case for it. A year later, I upgraded the Pismo to a 12"PB Rev A with a 60Gb drive. prior to selling the Pismo I swapped drives again and sold it in it's original 20Gb setup.

Now I have a 60Gb internal and a 60Gb external drive and I run Carbon Copy cloner over them once a week as a secondary backup strategy.

Neat, simple and quick.

I put mine in an OWC portable FireWire enclosure, put OS X and OS 9 on it and use it as an emergency utility boot drive.
