Hello,

I'm too poor to shell out 50 for the Belkin iPod Batt. adapter, so I'm going to make one! I've seen a guide online here:

http://drewperry.co.uk/index.php?sty...d&ipod=battery

This is all well and good, but a housemate of mine is trying to work out the optimum batt. combination (size vs performance) and we need the best input voltage for an iPod. The guy on the above website says it takes 8-30v but I don't want to accidently fry my beloved iPod. He choses 12v as this closely matches the Power Adapter.... is this the right choice? Will I get better performance with a different voltage? Any advice would be great!!!

I'm not a electrician by any means, but it looks like a nice cool project to have a go at, so please don't use too technical lingo etc!!

Thanks!!!
