I had forgotten all about Brisco County Jr.

Wasn't Eerie Indiana cancelled? That was a great show, too!

Yeah, it was announced maybe a month ago that Angel was being cancelled and that this would be its last season. And I was really starting to get into it. That recent puppet episode was amazing.

Bah! All of these series had at least some kind of ending, as opposed to one remarkable series from the 80s: The Tripods. Who remembers it? It was supposed to span three seasons (it is an adaptation of three books) and they cancelled it after season two, because it was apparently too expensive.

I, for one, welcome our three-legged alien overlords.

Wow! I assume that was based on the Tripod series by John Christopher. I read those books a really long time ago and really enjoyed them.

I'll have to see if I can get my hands on that DVD...

I liked this one:

Space: Above and Beyond
It also had an abrupt ending. I think it suffered from a stupid and non-descriptive name

Angel is supposedly finishing it's "arc." Which might be Joss saying, "oh, I only meant for it to last 5 seasons ALL ALONG" or it means that the WB is letting it go out gracefully with story completion, so the DVDs sell. I will miss it. The puppet ep was indeed inspired.

However, all will be better after the FIREFLY MOVIE. Followed by the return of FIREFLY THE SERIES. FIREFLY!!!

It's the latter. Joss Whedon was taken by surprise, as indicated by this quote:

"Some of you may have heard the hilarious news. I thought this would be a good time to weigh in. to answer some obvious questions:

No, we had no idea this was coming.

Yes, we will finish out the season.

No, I don't think the WB is doing the right thing.

Yes, I'm grateful they did it early enough for my people to find other jobs.

Yes, my heart is breaking.

When Buffy ended, I was tapped out and ready to send it off. When Firefly got the axe, I went into a state of denial so huge it may very well cause a movie. But Angel... we really were starting to feel like we were on top, hitting our stride -- and then we strode right into the Pit of Snakes 'n' Lava. I'm so into these characters, these actors, the situations we're building... you wanna know how I feel?
Watch the first act of_ [Buffy episode] "The Body."
And I second the notion of SportsNight. Best written show on TV at the time.

I love Northern Exposure, but unjustly canceled? I don't think so. Did you really want to see more of Paul Provenza? That show jumped the shark when Rob Morrow left, maybe even earlier.

Not sure how I feel about paying $60 for the Season 1 DVD considering there's only eight episodes.

Glad to see all the fans of Sports Night here. Great show. I posted that in a thread of must-have DVDs about a year ago, but no one knew what the heck I was talking about.

Family Guy rocks, just got Duh Vuh Duh set.... but like 'ole Jimi Hendrix, maybe the trappings of mortality brought immortality...oooooh deep!

Trying to be deep whilst pissed aside, Family Guy is extremely funny but the thing that makes it funny (un-PC) makes it unsuitable for the mainstream... Shame... 'cuse me I need to go cook a chilli pizza...

(I'm going to regret this post in the morning )

Futurama (maybe if it wasn't half-cancelled by football every week people would've watched it)

Push, Nevada on ABC. great show that was cancelled after only a few episodes. i can see why, since it definitely had a narrow audience, but it's not like ABC is getting viewers anywhere else, either

TWIN PEAKS! Best show ever made. Maybe it wasn't unjstly cancelled--the ratings sucked, but it was an injustice that more people didn't like it and keep it on the air.

No, but Morrow was an asshole for leaving and a great show was ended prematurely.

Sadly cut short by the crappy ABC network after it's second season and leaving nothing but the most incredible series/season finale. The series started off red hot and was very popular but in it's second season ABC moved the show around in mid-season to different days of the week.
