It says that if given the chance to enter and live legally in the US, 40% would do it. Hey, if it improves their chances of getting a dream job, a sweet-looking home theater system, and a hot rod car, why not? Although, I am sure most of the surveyed people hasn't thought it through: to what schools will they send their kids?
Run the same poll in any other country and you'll get the same result.

You beat me to it! I was going to say, this was a poll conducted in America, data taken from the half of them that already reside in the US.

Being in debt and celebrating a lower deficit is like being on a diet and celebrating the fact you gained two pounds this week instead of five.

On Leno the other night:

Well, see, while your warriors are out in Iraq, about some immaterial threat, your country is slowly invaded by Mexicans.
Talk about being ****** in the behind.

Hey people! Someone who has no idea what they're talking about.
Care to elaborate on the correlation?
Didn't think so. NEXT!

The sad fact is that most of those who would like to move to the U.S. from Mexico see their own country as so bogged down in scandal, corruption, and a heavily stratified class system (if you look Indian, you're MUCH lower class than someone who looks European), and the only way to get away from all that is to leave the country.
Frankly, I really can't see that view as incorrect. After almost a century of the "Institutional Revolution," Mexico has proven to be almost impossible to govern fairly and honestly.

They are #1 in everything, the best country in the world, and according to many in these boards, they are the only one with the right way of life.
That is like a magnet that attracts all forms of criticism.

Sorry, don't see the irony either. What does the US military have to do with illegal immigration from Mexico? It's not the duty of the military to stop immigration, and besides, Bush won't ever put troops on the border to stop it (he seems to think that there's nothing wrong with illegal immigration of Mexicans.) We have the INS to inadequetly deal with border immigration.

Nah, we're just starting to hire more housekeepers, construction laborers, and farm workers for pennies on the dollar.

I'm sure that people will have no qualms with moving away from the US after it becomes Mexico 2. Let's be honest with ourselves, would you really want to live in a country where the majority of people are from Mexico?
