Sniff. I'll never forget the Cube.
Here's a preemptive SSSHHH! to Cypher before he says anything.

Anyone surprised? This was on the cards almost from the moment the Cube was launched. Somewhat typical of Apple. Do they actually have a marketing department, as in "Is there a market for this (overpriced) product?" Tut, tut, tut . . . Wakey, wakey, Steve.

Did I care a whit when Apple gave up the Centris after 9 months? No. I don't even remember when they cancelled the Quadra. Who cares. I got a bit angry when Apple bought out Power Computing, But today I'm definitely a little sad.
It's a terrible shame that Apple invented the world's coolest computer, then blew it on the marketing.
It they'd turned their mold around so the mold lines had been on the BACK no one would ever have seen them. Howcome I'm the only person who thought of this?
If they'd test-marketed it a bit, they might have found its price niche, instead of floundering and backtracking. If if if.
After all, Apple is a huge corporation, run by fallible people, and they fouled on the Cube.
Hopefully, they'll find a way to capitalize on the investment in technology with other machinery, and perhaps they won't blow its marketing, whatever comes next.
Hey, I like mine.

Over priced, under-achieving, but oh-so cool. It will be missed, but I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of the cube, Stevie is just too fond of it me thinks...
