Hello

Big fan here. Anyways, I think there is a bug with Adobe Golive 4.0 and OS 8.6.

I am on a Powercomputing PowerCenterPro 200 (604e/200) 128 ram/ OS 8.6 (from
Apple's site).

Basically it looses your info...EVERYTHING...even if you saved it, it comes up blank! I mean NO codes at all.

First it started with switching between preview, layout, text, etc...

any of the combo and ::blink:: gone. Then it crashes with "error type 2".

Now I thought it might be a virus at first so, I ran all the LASTEST virus,
worm, etc...everything I can find....nothing. ok...I then reinitialized the hard
drive, installed a fresh system, (8.5 CD) Then the 8.6 Update, and a fresh copy
of Golive 4.0.

still does it. Again EVEN if you have saved it...switch the panels or even type
something new...100% of the time, it goes blank. Yes, I even saved a page, then
upload it to the server, and notice that it's 0k.

Is it me? Or is this a bug? and if it is who names it? Just kidding. Really, it
sucks. I've LOST data. Help!

Anyone eles experienced this?

Thanks.

I upgraded to 8.6 yesterday and have been running Golive 4.0 all day with no problems... will let you know if anything else comes up!?!

What modules do you have enabled?

Do you have any add-ons (Actions etc.) that might make a difference?

Keep me posted, the last thing I want to do is to lose a site after working till the wee hours!

I hate to say it, but I had this trouble under 8.5.1 a while back. I don't think that it's related to the OS update. I was saved only by the fact that I had the page open in Netscape at the time, and could do a "Save As" to get my data back. It's like it deletes the original file and forgets to write the new version to disk, or crashes before it can. I like GoLive, but it is a bit buggy at this point, with this one being the worst of the lot.

Hi,
I know this is not the right forum, but I have to ask...
I'm using GoLive 3.1, and I keep getting some goofy javascript error when I create mouse-over's. The page will work fine on my Mac(localy and from the server), but when viewed on a Windoze machine I get an error.."something init at line 51 something"... I'm not the greatest with javascript, but I've reviewed the code and can't locate the problem. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
(are there any good GoLive newsgroups out there?)

I had this problem with 8.5.1. The solution for me was to go into Preferences, choose the General/File Mapping section and turn OFF the "Use Internet Config" checkbox. Haven't lost a page since...

Uhmmm... sorry, I'm not used to the structure of these forums yet. The solution above is for the disappearing text bug, NOT the JavaScript problem. Sorry, I should have been clearer.

Thanks all.

Well here's a small update. I reinstalled Golive 3.1 and it's behaving so far (under 8.6)

Now I can at least do some work and when I get back to 4.0 I'll let you know.

Thanks again, I'll keep reading

I'm running 8.6 (downloaded) on a Blueberry Rev. C iMac w/160MB RAM, and GoLive 4. No problems so far. Everything is swimming along very nicely. I'll keep you all posted if anything blows up. =)

I upgraded my beige G3/300 to 8.6 last week and noticed the same GoLive 4.0/PDF conflict. When I added a folder containing PDF documents and rescanned the site, GoLive would crash. If I removed the PDFs and rescanned, the program would work just fine. Even new sites would crash if it contained a PDF document.

Other than that, 8.6 is working perfectly on my machine.
