I have a problem with my iBook under Leopard where text doesn't display properly and deleting wreaks absolute havoc. Result is garbled unreadable text. I heard that resolving font conflicts should help, but I did that and it didn't resolve this issue. Is there some sort of problem with the video driver I should know about, or something like that? I've Googled this fairly extensively and haven't yet found a good answer.

There's probably something wrong with your Thunderbird profile. Could you post a screenshot that illustrates just what is happening?

1. OK, here's what happens when I start typing. Notice the garbled "g" at the end of the word "wrong":

2. And here's what happens when I try to delete.
There are artifacts and when you retype in the same area where you just deleted, no new text appears
