So Im sure MOST MacBook Pros out there have a heat issue. Some are probably worse than others but lets face it, its a 2.0GHZ Dual Core system shoved into an 1" thick case. Im getting ready to re-apply the thermal paste in my MBP when I got thinking. Why hasnt some body capitalized on this yet and developed some sort of thin pad that attaches to the bottom of the MBP and does not retain heat? The heat from the actual laptop will still be moved to the case and the pad wont touch of the bottom of the laptop, simply just let the computer hover over it? They could design these to be comfortable too and most of all, cool. So finally I can start working with Photoshop or watch a full DVD while my MBP is on my lap.

Hmm...I think you may be talking about a product already in existence. It's called CoolPad from Road Tools: http://www.roadtools.com/product.html

I have one for my iBook and it's incredible. Makes my iB run about 15 F cooler than without it.

I've posted about this before, search "climator" or "phase change". Works well.
