What is the point? The disc is still needed and I haven't noticed any increase in load times. Would someone care to explain this to me?

Less noise, less use of the optical drive, less chance of RROD.

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

Does it protect your games from that thing the Xbox does where it rapes your discs if you so much as sneeze in its general direction?

Stops the misses from b1tching and moaning about the noise of the aircraft in the corner of the lounge that's going to take off.

I'm of the opinion that the noise reduction is a little overrated, but I will admit when I picked up Arkham Aslylum, the spinning of the disc caught my ear. This is somewhat confusing, thought, since the two games I was playing before that, COD & Orange BOX, are also not installed, yet never caused my 360 to be really loud.

I would say the load time reduction is worth it, though.

For a test I decided to install Batman, and I have to say that the jet didn't take off once. Perhaps I will do so with all the games I play.

Do you guys have your Xbox on its side or flat? I have it on its side and IIRC before CoD4 was installed to the hard drive it was the loudest DVD that I had.

Mine's flat, not stood up, because there's not that much space inside the desk, and I heard bad things about scratching discs when its upright.

It'll be much easier if you just comply.
