Microsoft is preparing measures that will address antitrust concerns brought by the European Union, according to European Commissioner Joaquin Almunia. Antritrust regulators are investigating if Microsoft is continuing to block computer manufacturers from installing other web browsers besides Microsoft-supplied ones, following complaints from several companies.

"In my personal talks with Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer he has given me assurances that they will comply immediately regardless of the conclusion of the anti trust probe," Almunia said at an economic conference in northern Italy. He believes the matter to be a "very, very serious issue." Almunia has been driving the antitrust enforcement matter since July, when the possibility arose that the software giant failed to honor its commitment to offer users a choice from other web browsers. The agreement was signed with regulators three years ago. Additionally, the commission is looking into the possibility that Microsoft is not providing complete API access for browsers other than Internet Explorer in Windows 8.

It will be once Apple has anything approaching a monopoly position, and they start abusing that position.

As it is, iOS, has under 20% market share in Europe.

Give us a call when they hit 90% and start abusing that power to force other products off the market.
