Those HDTV screenshots at Voodoo Extreme look amazing.

What's the big deal? Looks like any other lame-o generic first person shoot'em up. Seen'em one, seen'em all. The only one that stands out is Voyager Elite Force, only because unlike the others, Voyager actually has some semblence of a plot.

Oh please. FPS's aren't for plot. This is not an FPS either, it's a third person shooter/first person shooter. All bungie games have good plots, and how can you not like a game that's the continuation of the marathon series? You haven't even played the game and you're already whining about it. I think you're just saying "Well I didn't want it anyway!" because you can't get it for another few months.

Does anyone actually know if Bungie, *AHEM* Microsoft is going to release it for the Mac? I know there was talk of wanting to get it out there for multiple platforms, but there have been no commits.

yeah, it'll be out. Matt Soell and Jason Jones keep committing to it.

Yeah, i played the demo on a local XBOX unit, but i'm still going with GameCube. I'll pick up Halo when it comes out for mac, which should be around the time the G5 hits the shelves. HA HA HA.

Microsoft/Bungie has committed to Halo for the PC/Mac.

see http://www.imgmagazine.com/news/stor...ArticleID=4217

My guess is that they just don't want to advertise it too much, so they sell X-Box's.

I saw that picture on voodoo extreme and said "uh-huh, and that's JUST what it will look like when you hook your xbox to your TV!"

That photo was a borderline fraud - it was rendered without consideration to honest playability, but just for the sake of making one pretty picture. TV's have horrible resolution anyway and the hardware in an x-box (even considering the GF3) would choke running the game at that resolution. Of course, nobody on any contemporary computer is going to run Halo at that resolution and get 60fps either.

Halo looks like it could be a good game. But I'm not buying an xbox and I'm not holding my breath for it to come out for a mac. But if it does, I sure won't expect to be playing it at that rez.
