I went to my friend's place this morning to help him do some work on his house. I started my iPod (2nd gen, 10 gig) playing at 9am, and it played continuously while we worked until just after 10pm tonight. 13 hours. I thought they were only supposed to have a 10 hour battery life? I've had it a while and I use it for around 4-5 hrs everyday day, it's looking a bit battered. Just thought I'd share that with you.

Ditto that, my ipod tends to go ages without needing recharging. 2nd gen 10gb has to be the best iPod ever

I had the original 5GB, lasted about 12 hours when purchased, two years later, lasted 10 hours still.
...but I sold it 'cuz I really wanted a new 15 gigger!

My 10Gig is lasting maybe 8 hours at this point, but that's after 15 months of heavy daily use, so I can't complain. Just started bringing in the charger to work and topping up the battery over lunch.
Best gadget I ever bought.

My 5 gigger pumps out music for a solid 11 hours, which is perfect for all the studying I'm going to be doing for finals. Sigh, a bittersweet victory.

Yup. The 2nd gen 20GB is the pinnacle of the iPod line so far. Best button layout, best battery life! I wouldn't trade it for Veronicas 40GB if she'd throw it after me (or at me judging by her mood swings as of late :hmmm: )

I have a 2nd Gen 2 year old almost 10GB model, the battery is still strong, I'm sure I get more than my coworker's 3rd Gen 1year old 30GB model.
