Why wouldn't it be compatible?
Anyway, this one sounds sweet and is a good price. Nice to see it still uses firewire.

Woo, it comes with Toast 6 Lite... since most people will either be satisfied with Apple's tools, or will want Toast 7, you'd be just as well off buying the Windows version of that drive, which is already on the shelves at Best Buy -- with USB 2 and FireWire ports.

The DRX-810UL/T model will be available next month for less than $150.
 Who are they kidding?
Pioneer's DVR-110D is $40-45. Even if you spend $40-45 on a really nice looking FW case, you're still well under $100.
Why would you want to pay more for a slower, less capable burner?

$150 is completely in line with a drive in a high-quality enclosure in retail. Note that the Windows version of that drive currently goes for $180.

WOW! Froogle says $150 for the non-Mac version, but still. WOW!
I can't see what makes this drive so expensive... the write speeds aren't best-in-class, the enclosure is nice but nothing amazing, and the connectivity is nothing special.

You put the internal drive from the first link in any of the cases from the second link (I'd suggest the first one, from Macally). All of those cases are USB2 and FW400.
The DVR-110D supports both DVD+R dual layer and DVD-R dual layer at 8x, the fastest speed currently available on the market.
