Congratulations in the new (upgraded) MacBookPRO!

Sounds like you're off to a fun start.

As recent switchers, I wonder if I might ask the recent switchers here a favor. I have created a Squidoo "lens" (a site) for switchers. I have put things there I think will be helpful for those thinking of making the switch or recently switched. If you are so inclined, will you check the site (see signature) and offer suggestions for additions or changes so that It might be more useful to future switchers. You can send me a private message or respond here. Thanks in advance...

I just upgraded from a 1ghz TiBook to a 2.4ghz 15" MBP, and I gotta say WOW..

And my wife is very pleased to be the recipient of my old PB (in reality, she had commandeered it months ago). So I am happily "back in the saddle" of portable computing again.

I have been using my new MBP for about 5 weeks now, and I share your enthusiasm abeato6!

I do pretty graphics-heavy design work, and I kind of took a chance on relying solely on a laptop for my business, but I have yet to be disappointted in the perfomance of my new MBP.

I am not a switcher, but upgrading from my old 800 MHz iMac give me a newfound love for Macs again!

I just got my dream machine yesterday! 2.16 GHz C2D MBP, 15.4" glossy display, 1gb RAM (another 1gb stick from Crucial on the way), 120GB, etc. etc.. Perfect size, fast as hell, have always loved the form factor, and has the glossy display I wanted. Got it refurbed from Apple for $1499. So far I couldn't be happier! This is my third system purchased through the Apple refurb store and everything went smoothly as usual. I got the 4GB silver Nano from the refurb store a couple weeks ago when they were $129 and I'm also VERY happy with that too (and of course it matches the MBP really well). Gotta love the Apple baby!

This is my first Mac and its the new SR 2.2 Glossy. I can't believe I didn't switch to Macs sooner. This machine is doing what my old PC laptop was doing faster, smoother and in much better style. I, too, share your enthusiasm for the MBP.

I'm going to get my first MacIntel next week or the week after. It's going to be the 15" 2.2Ghz base model. That's all I need for now. I hope it is faultless and also runs Vista perfectly.

Congratulations!

I'm not a great fan of the MBs. Probably because I bought a new MB and it broke down on me 13 days (magic number!) after in use. Its failure might have to do with the fact that I let it fall down from my bed though.

I will buy a MBP in a few weeks time as well. I won't be using it for graphic work though as I use the Mac Pro for it. Instead, it'll be my primary coding/programming device.

I replaced my Pismo with a 1.83 CD model. Love it. I only wish it had the same battery life.

Congrats on your new MacBook!

I ordered mine on July 24th and am waiting for it to ship. Though I LOVE this PowerBook G4, it will go to my wife, so that we'll each have a nice Apple laptop.

I'm feeling so impatient to get mine that I'm watching unbox videos on YouTube. How desperately geeky is that?

I just got my macbook pro and I love it!
Having paid for the 7200 RPM hard drive I was wondering if there is a way to confirm that the drive is actually 7200 and not 5400...Any help would be appreciated.

MBP 2.4 Ghz, 2 gig RAM, 160 gig 7200 RPM?

Got my new MBP 2.16Ghz on July 30th and so far, so good.

It's my first new computer in about 9 years and it replaces our single processor g4 450MHz powermac. What a freakin difference in speed! GoogleEarth is now enjoyable to use.

Got the matte display after much agonizing over matte or glossy. I like both but I went with matte since it seemed like more people recommended the matte over glossy. I'm glad I went with the matte now that I got it...
