Samsung has introduced three new Smart TV apps, with more coming this spring. Samsung Smart TV users now have the option to download FOX NOW, Spotify and Univision's UVideos, adding to the company's extensive range of function extending applications. The apps are available for immediate download to Samsung smart-enabled devices including Blu-ray players and certain home entertainment systems.
The FOX NOW app gives users the option to stream view on demand content directly to their Smart TV, with featured shows including The Following, Bones, New Girl as well as other popular new release titles. Where users have a full subscription to a cable or satellite service, they can view the content on their TV via the app at no additional charge.
The Spotify app, which has been available to European Samsung Smart TV customers since late last year, works just like the desktop version of the app. Users can stream ad-supported audio for free, or join on a pay-by-the-month plan for ad-free listening and downloading. The Univision UVideo app offers bilingual support and a range of on-demand content. [
