It seems perfectly logical because Apple is defecting from its 2X2 product matrix.

12" iBook is already mini-enough, I think.

They defected from the 2x2 quite some time ago. What would a Book mini try to be, anyway?

The closest thing to a Duo in years?

The 12in PB is nice and small, but Apple time and time again has demonstrated that they can always make their computers smaller than the rest.

(The two exceptions that come to mind are the Wallstreets and the Newton. And maybe the original Apple Portable.)

I'm predicting Apple's assault on Crackberry users next. A new Apple PDA called the mini Mac mini. Or the Mac mini mini. Or Mac micro. Or Mac itsy-bitsy.
I like mini mini Mac. It's the most fun to say.
