OK, I'm interested in knowing if anybody actually uses that PC card slot and what you use it for.

A Memory card read for my Olympus Camera so that I don't have to ever worry about carrying a cable!

Nothing, I have a 12" and it has no slot! I will let you know if this ever presents a problem but I don't foresee it.

One concern I have is if 802.11b/g goes the way of the dodo bird while I still own this machine. Hopefully the new standards will be downward compatible as long as I own this PB.

I don't have anything in it, but I bought the 15" in anticipation of a wireless card ... not wifi, but for instance a Sierra wireless aircard:

There's plenty of hacks and instructions for OS X even though they don't list their support for OS X.

Me too also saves Camera's battery


I also have a USB2 card..... alows me to connect to USB 2 HDs (yes my old TiPB don't have usb2.
