Apple.Excite.com is gone. I loved it. I really don't like the Apple.Netscape.com. So I ask what's your Startup Homepage? What service? ect. I'm looking for a new one or insuctions on how to build one.

My start page usually is Google, because it's quick to load and I use Google all the time. Sometimes I leave Fark.com as my start page.

Yeah, I miss apple.excite.com too.

Using my.yahoo.com. Ugly by comparison, but it does the job.

My homepage. When I can't stand it anymore, it's time to change it.

What does your site say, out of curiosity? What little french vocab I have doesn't include those words, i guess...

Nothing, I go someplace different I open the browser. Of course all the places are up on the toolbar favorites, but I like being in control of where I go first.

Same with me, but I got all sorts of search engines (google/google image/hotline/dictionary/thesaurus/versiontracker/domain name search/translation) built in. (customised forms of course, the whole page is 'above the fold'). I also have checkboxes by my links so I can select a few and then click 'open' and it will open all the checked links in new windows, and I have some preset buttons which will set the checkboxes for me (e.g. open mac favorites). Pretty neat page - if anyone wants it I can put it online.

macnn.com

altho a random page would be kinda fun. i'm sure something like that exists. just have a script as your start page that throws you to something random each time. might be dangerous at work tho.

click click
"hmmm, what have we here today"
HOT DONKEY PORN!!!!
*bass heavy music starts*
{frantic clicking, trying to close the window}
{21 new window pops up}
*throaty moaning eminates from your speakers*
"NOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Which window is it damnit!!!?"
"*!@&@##$*!#*@#@&"
{you smack your monitor, as if that had something to do with it}
{boss walks in}

I hate homepages always loading when I open a new browser.

I am a firm believer in just using the Personal Toolbar

I have mine set to Space Weather. I would never remember to go there regularly, and every once in a while it tells me when the northern lights are going to be out.

Well look at that... there's a good chance they'll be out tonight!

I do the my yahoo thing and have it personalized to show all the stuff that Apple Excite used to give me. It's kinda replaced my morning paper. Now if they'd just plug in some Wiley Miller cartoons....

only because I hate opening a new window because I want to go to sterlingwidgetchesspieces.com and not have to load the opening page each time.
Besides, whether its my own link page or someone else's, I found I almost never used the links anymore than my own bookmarks.

Apple.com

It always looks purty and is the fastest loading page (consistently) that I know.

The Clan Plaid home page. 'Tis the Myth:TFL Order that I have been a part of for the better part of four years. Good fun, good folks. My machine at home stays pretty much permanently logged into our Hotline site (non-warez; Myth and other game maps, mostly).

My god... nobody here has mentioned MacSurfer's Headline News yet? They compile a list of mac/tech rumors daily, as well as a listing of the latest headlines from MacNN and several other Mac-only news sources. Plus it shows the latest releases on VersionTracker, so it kinda kills two birds with one stone...

Chisel, probably the best Mac crack site around, but their caracho server gets full by noon.

They laughed at my Mac, it had no CLI. They laughed at Linux, it had no GUI. I installed MacOS X, and shut them up.
