Imgetting a hot sweet macbook 1.83ghz core 2 duo 512 RAM(upgrading to 1gb) and i was wondering when i saw games like Call Of Duty 2, Age of Empires 3 and RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 on Mac.

Are they easy to get through with a macbook when on low settings?

When I upgraded my 2gHz MacBook from 1GB to 2GB, World of Warcraft went from playable to very playable. The difference was VERY noticeable.

I have the Macbook 2GHZ and a 1g of ram. I recently downloaded rollercoaster tycoon3 and halo and they both were running rather horrible. I plan on buying the games, but if they are going to run the same I won't. Right now I just have the windows versions.

Should these games be running so laggy and slow on my macbook? Would I be better off running bootcamp and windows to play games? Thanks for any help!

Yes, most games are usually a bit faster in Windows than OSX.
I don't know about rollercoaster tycoon (doesn't seem very demanding), but I doubt Halo will perform well on the MacBook.

I don't know about Rollercoaster Tycoon, but the Halo demo currently in the wild is not a Universal Binary. As such, its performance on your MacBook should be terrible. Speaking from experience, I can tell you that the boxed version of Halo (which is now Universal) runs very smoothly at medium settings on my MacBook (1.83 GHz CoreDuo, 2 GB RAM).

exactly the same as if they were ran on equally spec'd Windows machine.
No emulation in BootCamp...

Well, this made me feel better. I just need to upgrade to 2 gigs and I think I'm set to frag... right?

[Edit] MB black, 2.0 GHz C2D, 1 GB RAM... (late 06)

The macbook runs games just as fast as other graphic cards but with less visual effects and less frame rate.

Huh?

Anyway, I think the most important thing about playing games on a MacBook is not the game's hardware requirements, but whether the game is a Universal Binary (a la Call Of Duty 2 and most newer shareware/independent games). That makes a huge difference in performance, on any hardware, but especially on a MacBook.
