It's true. I do find, however, that every time the server crashes it takes three days before it reboots.

From The Book of John Chapter 10, Verses 36 through 38

"What about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world? Why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, 'I am God's Son'? Do not believe me unless I do what my Father does. But if I do it, even though you do not believe me, believe the miracles, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father."

NOW, it is the ultimate God and Jesus thread.

Has anybody here ever had Jesus or God speak to them? What was said? What was this experience like?

I like hearing about supernatural stuff...

Here you go besson3c:

From John Chapter 2 verse 6 to 11

Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.

Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water"; so they filled them to the brim.

Then he told them, "Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet."

They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside and said, "Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now."

This, the first of his miraculous signs, Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee. He thus revealed his glory, and his disciples put their faith in him.

The Bible is an odd collections of essays, folk tales and sermons written by a large and varied number of people over a long period of time. I'm sure some of them hated gays, but I'm sure some of there were.

I believe it was the poet Lennon who sang "God is a concept by which we measure our trousers" ...or something to that effect.

I know this is going to set some people off, but I am 100% certain that God kept me from committing suicide when I was 17. I had a note written and everything. I was severely depressed for three and a half years, and finally decided to end it one night. I studied online how to slit my wrists properly (along the arm, not across it...sad that the Internet can be used this way), and as I put the knife to my wrist, I heard a voice say, "I love you." I wouldn't describe it as "audible," but I heard it in a way that is weird to try to explain. I started crying, put the knife away, and tore up the letter. I was 18 when I finally came out of depression, but that experience and another one similar to it is what pulled me back into Christianity and led me to be a student pastor.

I also had a terrifying spiritual experience during that same period, but that's for another thread.

Sometimes I hear the dead bodies under my floorboards calling out to me, saying "Why us? Why? Oh Why?" followed by a lot of sobbing.

I just stamp the floor and tell the deadbeats to "Shut up! I'm trying to communicate with Satan through the TV!"

That'll learn em.

Or you just chickened out.

God talked to me once. He told me:

In all seriousness, spontaneous aural and visual hallucinations are really quite common. The human body is a fallible thing. Healthy 'normal' people can produce all manner of odd neurological quirks at any time during the day or night, even more so if they are stressed.

I actually have hallucinogenic sleep paralysis, so I've seen, heard and physically felt things (as clear and vivid as anything in normal life) that actually were not there. When I was a kid it really used to freak me out. I didn't know what it was until I was in my 20's and I saw a documentary on it and yelled "That's what I have!". It's just my natural brain chemistry misfiring on the onset or offset of sleep. Unfortunately, with hallucinogenic sleep paralysis the experiences are never pleasant, they are always quite unsettling.

This is why I don't discount people's experiences. I'm sure they are very 'real', I just don't believe them to exist outside their minds. From alien abductions to chatting with Jesus over coffee, I think the natural explanation is much more likely than the elaborate supernatural one.

Still, just as long as they don't harm anybody because of it then it doesn't matter what people believe happened to them.
