In my recent software update to 4.3.3, the sync was interrupted mid-backup. The upgrade went fine next time, but the backup was unavailable. I’ve “lost” my settings (SMS log, call log, preferences, etc).

It looks like I have a full backup from the day before in ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/ but this backup doesn’t appear in the “device backups” list of iTunes>preferences>devices. I have several other backups listed, but nothing current enough to use.

The backup folder is large (7,237 files, 5.32 GB) and I’ve verified that it is the data I want. I can’t get iTunes to recognize it, though. All of the files in the folder are the 40 character hexadecimal filenames. Missing from the backup folder are info.plist, manifest.mbdb, manifest.mbdx, manifest.plist, and status.plist. I’ve noticed that most backup folders have these files, and I imagine that their absence is the issue here.

I’m hoping I can copy the contents of this folder into one of the other successful backup folders to make things work, but I assume I’ll need to edit the plist files in order for this to be successful. Any advice is welcomed. Thank you in advance.
