Mac is one of the well known brands with its destinct identity and appearence..

What is the most desired feature in the Mac Peripherals
1. Desired Functional Effeciency - e.g. Accurate Optical Mouse
2. Color of electronic accessories - e.g. Mouse color should be same as that of the Mac (like white)
3. Color of Non-Electronic accessories - e.g Laptop Tray should be white or any color would do

Any other desired feature of a Mac peripheral Post here

Apple is one of the well known brands. Apple makes Macs.

This thread seems kind of ridiculous. Of course Mac users want their peripherals to function properly and look aesthetically pleasing.

Apple is a brand. Mac is a product, but it is its own brand as well, that is why it is not marketed alongside the iPhone or iPod. That is why people want to buy macs as opposed to Apple computers.
Each product offers a unique experience that can be integrated with other products, and each has its own strong brand that is not reliant on a connection to Apple. On a smaller scale, it's just like Ford being a company and brand, with its Focus and Mustang models each also having their distinct brand identities.

Yeah, this thread is a tad obvious. We want peripherals as sexy as the hardware, and hopefully priced more reasonably than Apple-produced peripherals.

People buy Macs as opposed to Apple computers because it's the traditional name for Apple's ‘personal computer’ division. Every ‘personal computer’ currently made by Apple happens to be called Mac something. Apart from Xserves, obviously.

That is not a brand of its own.

‘Not reliant on a connection to Apple’, ridiculous.

 iPod
 iPhone
tv
 iMac
 Mac Pro
 MacBook

Notice the pattern?

Hint:
They all have this logo on them:

And it's a Ford Focus. ‘Focus’ doesn't have a distinct brand identity. ‘Mustang’ has a bit more of an identity, but imagine if Ford sold it to Toyota. Would a Toyota ‘Mustang’ still be a ‘Mustang’? I don't think so.

Now, imagine if Apple sold the ‘Mac’ name to Dell. Dell would then be selling computers called ‘Mac’. Would anybody in their right mind switch over to Dell Macs? No, they'd stick with what Apple decided to call their computers, be it ‘Granny Smith’, ‘Cox’, ‘NeXT2’, doesn't matter.

And I don't want cheaper‑but‑just‑as‑sexy 3rd party peripherals. If Apple make the kind of peripheral I need, I'll buy it from them. Brand loyalty.
