I want to un-install the windows media player 9 from my mac. Should I just drag it out to trash? or some other way?

Well, if you have the installer lying around, Installers usually come with an uninstall option.
IIRC, WMP only installs an internet plugin, though, so if you just drag that and the application itself to the trash, you're good.
The internet browser plug-in is at YourHardDrive/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/
I recommend searching for and installing Flip4Mac - it will do everything WMP did, except a lot better, and within QuickTime.

I checked at the Microsoft website about uninstalling WM player. It says, remove the player from the application folder and then after remove the WM pref. files from the preference folder in the system library. I removed the pref. files. Now I am experiencing my internet a bit sluggish. Often web-pages are taking more time to load than before. I doubt if it has something to do with pref files.??!!
