'Canes finally prevailed. They needed that game 7 desperation to give it all and put away the Oilers once for all. Amazing playoffs. Wish my team had gone a little deeper. Oh well there is always next year.
go 'Canes!!!!

Glad to see all those former Flyers and Panthers win a cup - and yet the drought in Philly keeps going...8,429 days, according to the Cheesesteak of Suffering.

How about the Oilers, though, getting as far as they got? Just two goals from winning the cup after coming in as the number 8 team in the conference.
Congrats to them.
But bigger congrats to the Hartford Whalers, um... Carolina Hurricanes. Was nice to see some of those vets hoist the Cup. Bittersweet for Oilers fans to watch Doug Weight with the Cup...

Amazing. You live in Alberta and you can't even cheer for the Oilers? Sheesh, I know the Flames and Oilers don't get along, but cheer for the "home team!"

As I was driving on the highway in Raleigh today, there was a person who had put papercups in the pedestrian bridge fencing above, spelling out the words "IT'S OURS!" with cups arranged in the shape of the cup.
Tonight is the party at the RBC center where we won game 7.
sweeeeet sweeeeet victory.

Back when Demers coached the Habs and they had a pretty good goaltender named Patrick Roy.
