Has anybody gotten a Promise Ultra133 card to work in a G4 tower w/OSX 10.2.4?

I had some IDE drives lying around and this promise card, and since my PC can't power any more drives I figured I'd toss 'em in my G4/350.

OSX doesn't find it, and Promise doesn't seem to even acknowledge Macs exist.

If there is no way to get this to work, what kind of IDE cards do you recommend? I don't care if its Ultra33 at this point.. I just would like to get this third hdd in the G4 to work

Or would an external firewire enclosure be cheaper? And if so, are there any ext FW cases that are FW powered instead of needing both power and FW?

This Promise card is meant for PCs right? You might be able to flash the card with the firmware from a similar Mac version of the card with the same chipset (Acard.) However, this would require some hacking on your part I'm sure, and even then odds are that it would simply render the card useless.

As far as buying a card for your Mac; Acard, Sonnet, and Siig all make Mac models. See this thread for links.

Lastly, are you sure that you G4/350 doesn't have room on the built-in ata66? Or did you already fill that up?

Already filled it up There's 2 harddrives, cd/dvd drive, zip drive.

Thanks for the link to the other page. I only searched around for promise, not ata133 in general, so I didn't find anything.

I'll also take a look at the flashing thing.. I can always snag another one from work or something
