I currently need extra storage space for my powerbook and lacie 400gig setup.

Problem is client wont pay extra money to buy a single lacie... So instead I've opt for them to buy an internal harddrive that will go inside my windows box so I can at least dump all their footage and have access for later.

Question is...

Would a 300gig 8mb cache seagate be good

vs.

A 250 gig Western Digital 16mb cache (cheapest)
or
A 300 gig Maxtor 16mb (bigger and cheap)

I was given $120.00 to buy a box of minidv tapes and the internal drive.

Go for the 300 GB Seagate. I've never had a Maxtor die on me in all my years of owning computers, but people tend to say that they have better luck with Seagate.

That, and the 16 MB of cache won't make a difference for what you want to use the drive for. Save your money. :-)
