Correct me if I'm wrong on this, but usually the iLife suite is transferrable. In other words even if it's not new, if Someone sells you the original DVD, You're good to go. Apple is a little stricter on their pro Apps but I believe even they are transferrable too. There's nothing to prevent you from installing a perviously installed iLife on DVD. As long as you are personally in possession of the original DVD, you are technically legal.

on the Pro-Apps, there may be something that prevents you from installing it if it hasn't been un-registered on the previous machine.
