Wow, this news is on the top of all the Mac news sites. Kind of funny since it's illegal (or soon will be). Maybe Apple will see the demand and open iOS up just slightly.

It's unlocking that's illegal, not jailbreaking.

No, it's the jailbreaking that is illegal. It was only presently legal because it was a required step to unlocking the phone, but that exception has expired. All hail the great DMCA.

The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.

Jailbreaking isn't required to unlock though.

It appears this jailbreak doesn't work for the ATV 3.

I did this last night. Cydia was having issues because of the mass influx of people trying to install things after jailbreaking. Was able to get some things installed and today things are much better and even paid apps are working.
This was my first time jailbreaking an iPhone I own and now I see what all the fuss is about. WOW. It's worth it just to install Intelliscreen and be able to see Twitter and Facebook posts in the notification center. Not to mention Folder Enhancer and Messages+. It's like having a brand new iPhone with increased functionality.
LOVE IT.

Well, I decided I couldn't wait. Upgraded to 6.1 through iTunes and then used the new jailbreak.
The jailbreak was very easy, very fast, and very smooth. Took under 5 minutes. Have had some trouble getting apps re-loaded from Cydia because of overload though.
My phone feels slightly faster but that could be because of the fresh upgrade.
