I can tell you this much, the police have standing agreements to take things like food and water from stores in order to provide them to people who are hungry and thirsty.
Not having viewed the video (I don't do wmv), I don't know what they were taking, but if it is food and water, other necessities, then why turn that, too, into a hate America thread?

And you know that they were looking for shoes for themselves? Not for victims? I mean, know, not just guess.

Yeah, you should shut up until you see it. There is NO doubt about what these policewomen where doing. And it was NOT enforcing the law !

The two cops were stealing shoes. They were both very clean, and showed no signs of being wet from walking through bad conditions. They obviously didn't need a pair of shoes, let alone 5 pairs of shoes, let alone dress shoes.
At first glance I thought hey, maybe they are gathering things to distribute to other ppl in need. But the one cops reaction to the camera ( her ridiculous explanation that she was looking for looters ) pretty much made it clear they were in fact looting for selfish reasons.
Those two should be fired on the spot.

Sometimes doing the right thing is illegal. Unless you have a lot more knowledge on why they were doing what they were doing, I'd refrain from judgement. Heck, maybe they weren't even real police officers, who knows.

If htat's the case I wouldn't worry about it, they're probably already fired then.

I thought maybe they were meter-readers or something, but looking closely you can see they have standard issue glocks on their hips. They are definitely police officers.

That's disgusting. Watch the video before you make comments. After seeing it, thewre is no way you can make excuses for what they were doing.

Totally disgusting. I didn't see anyone taking food, just 20 pairs of shoes and one of those powered mini car things for kids. Are they doing to get out of town riding that?
You know that pickup truck they showed FULL x2 of items are going to be sold.

I don't know what's worse... theirs actions, or the lack of common sense to come up with a decent response. Either way, I hope they get what they deserve.
That response from the kid with the pink shirt was priceless though....

Well she evaded the reporters questions, wouldn't look into the camera and kept on walking away.

Also the cops in New Orleans are very corrupt and their standards are very low and they only earn about 12 bucks an hour.
American Justice or something like that on A and E a cupla years ago.

She also asked insinuated that the reporter was a looter... WTF?
Right... He was trying not to piss her off while asking some fair questions, and getting his ass shot in the process... They give guns to morons like her and her partners?

The reporter is lucky she just didn't outright murder him.
If they'll steal, they'll murder to keep from being prosecuted.
Cops, just a little lower than the criminals themselves.

As I said, they are the first ones to rationalize why its OK to do it. Typical.
They did not appear to be helping distribute clothing or survival supplies to the needy. Given they are on tape they should be fired for not doing their jobs and then prosecuted for theft.

Looters should be shot on sight.
If the looters are cops, shot twice.

Not if they're looting food or water, or other things like first aid supplies, inflatable rafts, etc etc etc.

Ya we have gone over that. Have you watched the videos? 20 pairs of shoes and toys is what is being stolen.

its sad because the ones that were referred to as having resigned have done it because they couldnt handle the stress, didnt have anything left, couldnt find their families, said fsck it and left town, etc.
not because they stole things.

What, it's in Windoze Media Player? You expect a Mac user to use that crap? That's like asking the Mac to switch to a Peecee processor.

Yeah, the Mac already has switched to "peecee" processor.
What's your point? Agreed WMV sucks, but it still does the fricking job to show me a WMV.

Tell ya what, SWG. YES! IT DOES!
Beer is a beverage, albeit one that can get you drunk, and to be honest I could sympathize with people who simply wanted to get drunk.
It's not like we're not going to be paying for this crap anyway. Get over it. Personally I'm a bit disgusted that they're so concerned about getting tanks in and **** to stop theives but they have such a hard time getting helicopters and busses in to rescue stranded people.
F'cking government giving a crap MY ASS. Sheesh, even big companies have plenty of resources.. I'm sure if you asked greyhound they'd give you a buttload of BS about wanting to help and "doing what they could", when they'd simply be in good shape by sending a shitload of busses down to gathering sites such as the superdome.

Alcohol dehydrates, you. They'd be better off without the beer.
But you knew that.

That was amazing... it's weird how people who work there were locked inside forcefully, and now there is people breaking in! (Different reasons I know, but just try to look at it that way.)

If you drink enough beer though, it will rehydrate you at the same time...

beer has lots of good carbs too (dark beer would be best), I'd drink it if I was starving.
