In order to avoid clutter and lots of repeat threads, post your new iPod nano (and other models too, if you so desire) pics and "OMG this is so cool!”s here. Unique topics on the nano can, of course, have their own threads.

Use the nano as your daily iPod and use your iPod 3G as a music jukebox in your home stereo system.
Get an iPod dock and place it in a place of prominence in your home entertainment center. Hook it up to your receiver and get one of the iPod remote controls. It'll blow away that outdated Sony 100-disc changer that was so cool decades ago.

I am not impressed with sound quality. My Sony Clie PDA is noticably better, with its bass boost feature built into its mp3 player. Any EQ on this thing?
UPDATE I found the bass boost via the EQ. Sounds much better. I am impressed. It is pretty close to my Clie now.

Well, I'm trying to get my 5 month old daughter to hold the nano long enough to take a picture. She just wants to stick it in her mouth.
But I don't want my wife to know that I just bought the nano. The $249 I saved for my daughter's diapers somehow got lost at the Apple store and I mysteriously walked out with a nano.
My daughter sure has one smelly butt now

My wife says "I have 2 kids.... my husband and daughter..."
I replied "Well, the bigger the boys, the bigger the toys."
She laughed and said "I see you brought home another baby to add to your iPod family."
I replied "it's for our daughter. That's why it's so small."

I would amend that to say "The bigger the boys, the bigger the withdrawl amount for the toys"

Can you guys really fit all your music on the nano??? I have like 20gigs how do you do it! I just wouldn't be able to choose which songs to put on their. Maybe I should get a nano and a color?

I have both the iPod and the nano for different reasons.
I use the 20GB iPod for playing complete albums. I like to rip the entire CD and listen to it the way the artists intended it. Some CDs have a common theme and the songs somehow fit with each other. Sometimes when a song is taken out of its original context, it loses its impact.
An example would be Queensryche's Operation:mindcrime. It's a rock opera from start to end and tells a story. The songs all fit together to weave a tale.
As a music buyer, I like buying CDs where I like the majority of the songs instead of artists who have only 1 or 2 good songs on them.
The 20GB iPod is used to enjoy complete albums and for long road trips. I also use it to store my photos as it is easier to view images on the bigger iPod rather than the nano.
My nano is used for music singles for artists that I only want 1 or 2 songs. It's also the one I prefer to use for workouts. It's kinda like my "greatest hits" nano at the moment.
I'm actually thinking of getting a few more nanos. One nano will have all my acoustic guitar CDs. Another nano will have all my unplugged CDs. And one more nano for the cheesy 80's music that I grew up on. I just switch between whichever themed nano I want to. I personally hate wading through 20GBs of music on my big iPod. At the moment, I only used up 7.5GBs. Otherwise, the artist and album menus would be very long and unwieldy.
I compare using the nano as my current mix CD. Before the iPod came around, I would make 4 or 5 personal mix CD-RWs and play them. When I got tired of them, I would go back to my Mac, erase the CD-RW, and burn them again with a new song list. Now I just load whatever I want on the nano by changing my playlists. This sure beats having a bunch of CDs floating in the car and office.
So the nano just complements my regular iPod. The nano would never replace my full-sized iPod.
It's like a bicycle: Get a mountain bike for the trails and get a road bike for the road. They complement each other. Each bike works best in different environments. The nano works better for my workouts while the big iPod works better on long road trips such as the daily commute to work.

With regards to having enough music on a nano - they don't make an iPod big enough to fit all my music on and I figure I can only listen to so much of it between times when I'm at home, so I went for the compact option. It's replacing my 20GB 3G which is atarting to behave strangely anyway (skipping songs, battery nearly dead). I figure 75 CDs at a time will be enough.

60GB? That's overkill. I think if the total playing time of your iPod music library exceeds your battery life, you have more GBs than you need. I'm ditching my 20GB for a 4GB Nano.

You only use your iPod for music? How quaint.

Wow you guys have some wicked big iPods! I've also noticed in the pictures that there seems to be a theme with a lot of Mac users and that is the clear glass / brushed aluminum office look... anybody concur?
