Looks like Apple may follow Windows with multiple versions.

'Normal' , 'Pro' , and 'Joint Venture'

Which one you getting?

Lion retail launch prep may include three versions, servers | MacNN

It's not quite clear if the "Joint Venture" version will be for sale to end-users.

My guess is you only have the choice between Normal and Pro (i.e. Server).

I'll go for server, most likely.

These are obviously just the bundled application packages on the demo machines in store. Lion will be $29 and there's not going to be a different version than that except for the $49 Server add-on. Not sure why it's being reported as something else.

There are not going to be any different versions.

There are different images for installation on different store demo machines (and always have been), and there will be different licenses - edu, volume, site, and regular.

That's it.

Server will be an add-on. Lion is a single OS to rule them all.
