Oh, and yes, that really does say 720 KB per second download speed. Having my own OC-12 line is nice sometimes....

It is added by default to represent what language you are using on your computer. I have my computer set up for both English and Japanese and you use that menu to switch between the two. In that shot, it was on English.

You'll get that whenever you use more than one language on your computer.

Two questions regarding your Proteus:

How do you set it to have the contact window with nothing besides de title bar??
Also, where did you got the iChat iconset? I downloaded it from the Proteus site, but mine doesn't have the away icon.

1024x768 targets in 14 colour variations

the desktop preferences has 5 seconds then 1 minute. if you want anything you want then go to ~/Library/Preferences and edit com.apple.desktop.plist.

<key>ChangeTime</key>
<real>25</real> <-- change that number to any number of seconds you want it to take to change the desktop wallpaper

proteus > preferences
1.) Interface > contact list: uncheck 'show service column in contact list'
2.) Interface > contact list: uncheck 'show contact list headers'
3.) press the 'tic-tac' button to hide the toolbar

i think it is called iChat Advance or something like that. it is the iChat iconset, but it has the extra icons. i edited this version a little. the one i downloaded has one icon (i can not remember which) which had red outline on it, and it always caught my attention, and ended up annoying me, so i took off the red outline.

Umm, have you actually SEEN this particular PC one running?

You can't have if you claim the one for X is better.

Most times if there's a theme which is available on both XP and OSX I usually prefer the OSX version, however I have to say that this is one which theme looks better on XP.

Ya it's a sweet theme. And it does look best on XP I must say.... Though it might be posable to make it almost as good on OS X. Like for one the size kind and name headers should be black and not red... If you're trying to get around the text color thing I'd just say make it a gray gradient to make it as dark as posable and still have black text readable. Get silk running with a better font, that would also help. Not sure if I like the texture in the menus... Dark gray or black hi-light in the menus would also help. Also you need to try and have a black outline on everything. Try and stay as true the the original I'd say, and that should make it look best. Keep up the work, I know I'll download it when it's done.

when i first saw systronic i thought this has to go on osx...so i thru the basics together real quick to get it up and running just to see if it was possible/feasable to do a full blown port to osx...all this just from the small pic i had seen which didn't show too much...i have all of the artwork now and a full look as it should can't really be done...limitations of osx at the moment...but i will tinker away till osx 10.3 comes around and see what's up...if i come up with a port that does it justice i will release it with permissions and credits...

just one thing...heh...it took me nearly three hours to get the window widgets working and lined up properly...so i may throw my hands up and pass it on...damn osx...
