New Nanos and cheaper iPod Touch?

If the leaked photos of the new Nanos are authentic, then the Fatty didn't last long, did it?

Wait, is Apple supposed to have some type of event or was the rumored iPod rollout just supposed to take place at a specific time?

So that members from mac forums around the world will keep clicking on the store link.

We need new store-down post-its. Eug's are fine, but they're getting a little long in the tooth.

It simply doesn't take an hour, period, and it doesn't require them taking their store offline.

Let’s rock
(I’m still hoping for a 32GB iPhone, although that’s extremely unlikely considering the title of the event)

they haven't used the "be back within the hour" sticky for the last few store closings. this closing happened at 10am EST; which is 3 hours before the media event.

i don't remember the last store closing that was actually a few minutes before the event and then came back up after the event...that magical "within the hour". sure, it comes up shortly after...but it has been in the 1 1/2 - 2 hour range. now 3 hours?

good thing i wrote down my tracking numbers (i have a hunch something else is coming out because my order last week got cancelled by apple, and a new one created for arrival tomorrow) cause when the store goes down, so does everything else off of your shopping account.

What they need is some sort of progress bar just to generate excitement...

The progress bar could be little apples filling up as time passes.

Surely Apple can update their line without closing the store down.

sweet. tons of colors on a new nano, an itunes update, a classic (down)grade to 120 gigs, and an update to the ipod touch.

black, purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, pink, red and black are the colors now

(thanks ort888)

Wasn't the classic at 160 gigs before? They upgraded the low end and dropped the high.

I have a theory on this, but I need to see the final specs on the touch.

And given the price reductions, it'll be comparable to the iPod 5G (Which doesn't sound amazing, but given all the extra **** the Touch does, still a deal).

Most boring iPod update yet?

Kind of a relief really, because now I'm not tempted to upgrade.

The new Nano looks nice, but isn't a significant upgrade over the older one. It looks a little nicer and is cheaper (for the storage) but that's it.

The touch hasn't significantly changed at all, but is a little cheaper. Well, no, it has a speaker now, which is pretty handy. And $229 is a pretty good deal for the low end.

My sig is 1 pixel too big.

So, new iPods, new iTouch, new firmware.

Need for Speed looks cool + I love the direct attack on the portable gaming market.

I eagerly await the firmware update, and will make the usual human sacrifices the night before.

as an aside, I am concerned about Steve's health. He is looking somewhat gaunt. I only hope it's a result of treatment.

I, too, am concerned for Steve's health and am curious as to how this will affect Apple's marketshare.

I came into the event with three areas of interest:

1. Will Steve look healthy?
2. Will I able to create spore creatures on my Touch?
3. Will an adult contemporary acoustic artist close the event?

Found on twitter (GASP):

They have iPod touch apps for it. That's reason enough.

I just realized that there's an eBay app. I had been trying to bid on eBay auctions during class and meetings with the mobile version of eBay's web page, which sucked.
