I have an issue on using Apple iPhone Remote app to control Apple TV connected to the second network card on my Mac Pro.
This is how I set up my network environment,
-- First NIC connects to internet on a wireless/wired router.
-- aTV directly connects to second NIC.
-- Web sharing is enabled on first NIC, so aTV has no problem to connect to iTunes store.
(You might ask why not connects aTV directly to the router wirelessly, but I found the performance of streaming HD content is not as reliable. I also run out of wired ports on my router for aTV)
I am able to control iTunes on my Mac using the Remote app, but not aTV.
I think that the problem is that Remote app cannot authenticate with the aTV. I did a little research on the web, and found the Remote app authenticates with aTV using TCP 3689.
How do I enable forwarding TCP 3689 traffic from first NIC to second NIC? I know a little bit about NAT, but I don't know how to configure it on Mac OS.
Thanks in advance.
