My 14" doesn't get hot at all. It is very rare when I hear the fans turn on and nothing is over 107 degrees right now in class under 45% load.

Running on battery my 12" 1.07ghz only gets warm, definitely fine to have on my lap. Hell I was using it on my lap last night and it was a tad over 40 degrees celcius here! I have to admit it was getting a little hot then, but nothing too bad. It does get hot on the underside of the left palm rest when plugged into the AC though.
