"Hi, you are bidding on an original 1957 Les Paul Standard, This guitar is 100 % original and never had any changes what so ever, the finish is 100%original, Back and front, there are no breaks or repairs what so ever ,the frets are original too, the pickups and ALL THE PLASTIC PARTS ARE 100& ORIGINAL,,One Pickup does not have a PAF Sticker and the other one does, I have seen 57 gold tops have this, The guitars weight is about 8.5lbs average weight, the Gold finish has a Beautilul gold ,with no Checking or Greening, the Plastic Parts are a little dicolored, Probably because this guitar was played or left in a room that had smokers in it , I rate this guitar a solid 9 out of 10 condition, being very fair in rating, even the control Knobs turned color and I have been collecting vintage guitars for 35 years and never saw them do this ,they are absolutely SUPER COOL, The case is a 5 lasp original Gibson case, that is also in Amazing condition, Feel free to ask me any Questions, Please no bidders with less than 10 feedbacks unless you get in touch with me, I would end the auction for the right price and you know what these things are going for and this is the best one around for a long time , so for you Big collectors this is the one.Best of luck, By the way I have Great feedbacks so bid with confidence"

Current bid:
US $65,100.00 (Reserve not met)

It's worth however much people pay for it.

This type of thing really has no "price"

I wouldn't say more than $100,000 though.

The 58s and 59s are worth more.

A nice looking guitar, but out of my league.

Why exactly would one pay that much for a guitar? To be a better guitar player?

It's up to 70k and the reserve hasn't been met yet.

I am thinking this guy didn't want to sell it. And is just showing it off.

Why did he start the bidding at $1,000 and not $50,000 or something ? Seems like he's wasting people's time.

People do that all the time on ebay. Just to show stuff off.

Sotheby's sold one, all original, in near mint about year ago for $86K.

Now it shows that the seller ended the bidding "because the item is no longer available."

Why not?

Oh, that's right...HE'S A SHOW OFF!

It's a gamble. They set the reserve very high to keep us talking about it.

And he says to himself. i'm paying like 10$ for this auction (with very high reserve) and maybe some crazy fool will buy it.

Maybe it...wasn't really his?

Seriously, maybe he's all talk.

I should have bid on it and requested his contact information (telephone number) and tried to call him and reported back here.

Let us know if he relists it and I will.
