Did anyone forget or have any speculation about the supposive 60GB iPod w/ the Toshiba harddrive coming out? Does anybody know when? I would have thought that it would be w/ this lineup of 4G iPods, but that is pretty soon. They won't have a new casing or desing for this one because to keep in order w/ the style of the current ones, but what? Think it will have some other features to it? Like the top of the line iPod to have different physical features other than a harddrive? This would be very neat and cool! Any ideas please? thanks!

Supposedly the drives will be ready in Sept, but Apple said that they aren't using them in iPods anytime soon.

As soon as capacity of hard disk in powerbook reaches more than 120GB, the 60GB ipod will debut.
Why? there is a priori equation that has been hold for three ipod generations.
maximum hard disk in iPod =1/2 maximum hard disk in powerbook

Sometime early next year. Rather than release 5G iPod, just increase the size. Be a decent year, PowerBook G5, iPod 60 and Tiger.

I am sorry mdc, you already bashed my first thread, and I totally forgot about it. So I made a new one. Sorry about that, I had no idea I was offending you that much to make my first thread about that topic. Maybe I will go and make a thread warning people to not talk about future Peripherals/iPods in the Peripherals section. What the hell was I thinking. I am soo sorry about that, and I hope I learned my lesson from this. Never again will I post a thread asking people about what they think about the future of Apple's iPods? Any need for this thread about the iPods 60GB future---> name 2 other threads that cover this specific topic... Oh yea, what am I thinking for doing this? SOrry to everyone!

It must be a really small market that wants that much space.

There will not be any "pimped" out 60 GB iPod. I really doubt we will see this come to market at all. There just is not a need for it. What is your hell bent desire for a 60 GB iPod. You have posted a couple of different times wanting this iPod with alternative features from the rest of the line. Is there some type of bragging rights you are looking for.
How much music do you have loaded on your laptop?

That's what people said about the 40.
We'll see the 60 for sure, this year.

I think a 60GB version is a great idea. Granted I don't have anywhere near that amount of music but I would like to keep a backup of my iTunes library on my iPod. I did this on my 20GB 3G for some time. Unfortunately, after I put most of my music library on it I had to take that backup off.

How much music do you have loaded on your laptop?
How much project data do you have loaded on your external hard drives?
