I'm looking to buy Photoshop... legally. I know there's at least 10 CD at work just tempting me, but that would be bad. Right? Yes.

And buying education version is that wrong? I mean I did pay a lot of money for college, but of course that was 5 years ago. Damn.

Anyway, I'm checking eBay, but I'm not sure how legal that is either. Some other new, used, unregistered products. But why can someone sell a 600 dollar "new" software for 450? Something is going on there.

So that's leaves me with buying it from an online store (I'm not walking and I assume it's cheaper online).

Any good places on the web that sell software for cheaper than saw a macmall.com or apple.com?

Thank you for any tips.

I was thinking I could buy an old version of Photoshop and then upgrade to the new one to save money...

There's nothing illegal about eBay. Some stuff on there isn't quite on the level, but a lot is. When people get new versions of programs, selling the old versions on eBay to college students is a great way to get rid of them.

As for the price, you could sell a $600 product for $450 if, say, you got a second copy as part of a bundle you bought. I've never heard of that happening with Photoshop, but I have with other programs. I'd still be a little suspicious in this case, but it does happen.

I' ve got the complete Creative Suite (CS1 premium edition) I will sell you for $650. I paids $1250 for it new in late 2004 but have gotten the CS2 suite through work, legitimately. Send me a PM and we can discuss terms.

Well, what I did for Macromedia Studio was find a place clearing out upgrades to the previous version at dirt cheap prices. I then bought the Studio upgrade package and "upgraded" for slightly more than the cost of the upgrade package.

For the longest time, the best way to do Photoshop (haven't done this since v6.0) is to use a much older revision (e.g. now it would be 5.5 or so) and then to get the upgrade to CS2. Clever, but ethical.

Don't try to outweird me, I get stranger things than you free with my breakfast cereal.
