I started surfing in january, and it's a total blast....ive found the thing ill be doing 50 years from now. The other day i came across this picture, and i was just stunned. It's an amazing picture.... i can only imagine the adrenaline rush.

Interesting how we automatically assume it is a shark. That is what I did when I first saw the pic some months ago.
It is still one of the best photos I have seen (but the water sure looks rather gross).

Well yeah i know it's not a shark. but i mean imagine whats going through the surfer's mind. heck.... given the way he's on his board that wave would knock him off, and then he'd be in the water...and wouldnt be able to see that pointy...fast moving....thing.

They're very proficient swimmers... they're not gonna hit you.
I've been boarding with dolphins in that same kinda situation. Lots and lots of them, except they were travelling across the beach face.
