When I boot up or wake up my MacBook from sleep and start itunes the computer locks up and the beach ball starts spinning. If I leave it alone it eventually reboots itself. This occurs almost everyday after about 20 seconds of use. I notice it with itunes because that is the first program I usually start. It will lock up with other programs as well. It almost acts as if the unit is cold and when it warms up it rarely if ever locks up.

Computer worked fine until I upgraded the hard drive with a WD320 about a month ago. Since then I have reformatted drive and reinstalled Leopard and all other software. Could it be drive related?

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks,
Kage

Most certainly drive related. A chronic beach ball across apps usually indicates that the computer's waiting around for the drive.
