When upgrading to Tiger, does it come with the most recent iApps or do you need to buy the iLife package separately?
I would expect them to be the most recent versions, but I've learned (the hard way) not to assume anything.

So... After upgrading to 10.4, I would still have to buy iLife '05 in order to use RAW format pictures with iPhoto?

Yes, you'll have to purchase iLife 05 seperately, it is not included in Tiger.
If you do a clean install of Tiger, you'll also have to reinstall iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, and Garageband from the original install disks that came with your Mac.

You don't have to purchase the new iLife. You can continue to use the older iLife applications you already own.

If he wants to use RAW images he needs to update to the latest iLife version whether he updates to Tiger or not.

Exactly, but the OP was asking if iLife 05 was included in Tiger. It's not, so like I said, it would have to be purchased seperately.
Incidentally, there is a RAW plug-in for Photoshop that you may be able to find by digging around a bit (if you already have a copy of Photoshop). This will allow you to open native RAW files in Photoshop and then convert them to something iPhoto will recognize.

Thanks for the info El Gato.
Now I have to decide what's more important with my budget...
-Tiger ($129.00)
-iLife '05 ($79.00)
-Upgrade to Photoshop Elements 3.0 ($89.95 - Usually there's a $30.00 rebate when upgrading - $59.95).
Maybe I'll upgrade the OS and stick with my somewhat time consuming process of batch converting in Graphic converter and editing in Photoshop Elements 2.0.
