They are both fine now. Stop venting

P.S. Title should read T-800, not T-1.

He broke a bunch of ribs in 2001 in a similar motorcycle accident.

Maybe he should stick to his fleet of armoured Hummers.

Sounds like he needs to learn how to brake more efficiently and/or pay more attention to the road ahead.

It so happens that he's been riding in America for all these years, and has never bothered to get a motorcycle endorsement. "I just never thought about it."

CNN Article
"Police did not cite the governor because they arrived after the accident, Vernon said. Police referred their findings to the Los Angeles city attorney's office, which will determine whether the governor should be cited for an infraction."
They didn't cite him because they arrived after the accident? So, in California, if the police don't see an accident they will not issue a ticket?

No, because he had the side car attached at the time, which turns a motorcycle into a three wheeled vehicle...which his license covers.

Your kidding, right?

I'm not positive about California laws, but I really doubt adding a third wheel to a motorcycle will change its licensing category. Most states have two types of motorcycle licenses. One is for small bikes, mopeds and scooters and the other category is for bikes with larger engines.

From the article I linked to above:

Schwarzenegger spokeswoman Margita Thompson, acting on initial information Sunday, said she believed the governor's basic Class C driver's license allowed him to ride the motorcycle with its sidecar attached.

California Highway Patrol officers accompanied Schwarzenegger on the ride. Spokesman Tom Marshal said CHP officials also concluded that the governor was permitted to operate a motorcycle with a sidecar.

I guess I missed that while skimming the article.

Does that mean that the helmet law does not apply to motorcylces with sidecars?

Accidents happen. Wish him all the best to a full recovery.
