Looks like i'm not the only one with these issues. There seem to be two separate problems. Running disk utility takes too long and doesn't show a progress bar, returning an error too.
Then there's the whole Get Info, file permission thing with unknown users, causing the finder to crash. The fixes right now are way too complicated!
