I just bought a new MBP. I have windows installed on my old MBP. I want to delete windows off of my old MBP and put it on the new MBP usingthe same key. Is this possible? Do I have to call microsoft? The windows I have is a retail version and not an OEM version.

Yes, it's possible. Yes, you need to call Microsoft. You'll have to show them that you have installed it on a new machine and they will provide a code to activate it on your new MBP. It's not terribly difficult, but it may take a while. All you need to do is remember that you have REPLACED your old computer with a new one.

Since it is not an OEM copy, you should be able to install and activate it without calling MS. The non-OEM copies can be installed and authorized more than once.

If it doesn't automatically authorize over the web, it is a simple call to MS to get a new activation code.
