I use MS's Office 2008. MS no longer supports it, so I'm hoping a knowledgeable Word user here may be able to help. I have a problem with Word when revising a draft document. After resuming typing following a pause, the cursor will often jump ahead to a random position and insert the text I'm writing. The same can happen when I back delete: the cursor will jump back somewhere and delete the text there. But if I remember to click on the cursor first (as though to reactivate it or confirm its position) it doesn't jump.

This could be the Word bug with the track changes feature. Go to the Review tab, disable track changes unless you're using it and switch from Final Showing Markup to Final.
The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.

P--I've been trying your suggestion for several weeks now and it has helped diminish the frequency of the problem, though not eliminating it. Thanks so much.
