I'm using Safari 6.1.6 on OS X 7.5.
Now, when I use Gmail, the trash and other icons are not active, but they work in FireFox. The trouble began suddenly about 2 weeks ago. I closed all Labs on advice but to no avail. I then used Reset to Clear History and Trash etc worked fine for a day until I switched off and restarted the next day, then the problem returned. I also have problems with the Macworld site. The photos illustrating the story lines usually don't appear the first time I log on and the links to open the stories usually don't work, though they can after I visit other sites such as here then go back again.
Might it help to reset (uncheck) everything in Reset, rather than just Clear History? And if so, does this result in losing all my links etc and starting from scratch?
Any other suggestions besides Reset? I've looked for advice on how to delete cache memory, but am confused on how to do it for this particular version of Safari. I take it this procedure is not included in the Reset choices--or am I wrong?
