It ain't over until the fat lady sings, but it's looking pretty damn good I'd say. 269 for Bush now on 2 of the 3 networks. That would mean he's, hmm, lemme see, 1 away.

wow. It's just us Republicans in here.

Seems the liberals have evaporated.

If it's any consolation, I know how they feel right about now.

8 years ago I felt exactly the same way.

I lived through it. Just barely.

Something odd is going on in Ohio. The % of precincts reporting has been stuck at 89% for almost an hour now.

ack

no wonder.

You're looking at CNN.

With 97% of precincts reporting results with a 3+% margin of victory, they still wouldn't call Bush the winner of florida.
BUT
With 47% of precincts reporting and a 1% margin of victory, CNN declared the winner to be Kerry in another state.

There are some long faces at CNN. Reality is something they're trying to avoid.

Meanwhile, the Kerry campaign is now stating that Ohio is not over - that the votes haven't been counted. 3,000 lawyers and 27,000 campaign workers are on standby in Ohio (where almost 70% of ballots are the old fashined punch cards) waiting for Kerry's call.

Dems are saying they won't concede Ohio -- even though they're in the hole over 100,000 votes.

Yup, Bush will win Ohio. Can't see anything else happening.

But how many lawyers and campaign workers do you think the Bush camp have in Ohio waiting for the fight.

Boston, MA - Kerry-Edwards campaign manager Mary Beth Cahill released the following statement:

"The vote count in Ohio has not been completed. There are more than 250,000 remaining votes to be counted. We believe when they are, John Kerry will win Ohio."
Cue the circus music...

I believe that Bush will win Nevada, New Mexico, Iowa and maybe Hawaii (long shot).

He might also win Wisconsin. Without Wisconson, that will give him 286 to 290 (depending on Hawaii), and with Wisconson, it will give him as many as 300.

Grasping at straws. I truly hope the Kerry camp doesn't prolong it. The election is over. Both men, both parties need to strive to smooth ruffled feathers and bring things together again.

But, you're right. Where are the anti-American bashers right now?

If you look at all of the uncounted precincts in Ohio, you will notice that there are also many that lean towards Bush. This delutes any gains he may gain from Cuyahoga.

Washington DC = 90% Kerry

That's really all you need to know.

Just vote for whoever the citizens of DC don't vote for, and you're extremely likely to make the right decision.

I don't think so. I think we're seeing the media trying to keep up interest in the contest.

Kerry shouldn't concede until he's sure but it looks like he could win OH and still lose because of other states.

My concern is that only 2% of the precincts have reported in the last 90 minutes, and there has been no explanation as to what the holdup is. For some odd reason.

Update on CNN is that a few planes of more lawyers have left Logan airport in Boston and are headed to Ohio prepared to litigate.

Hmm, people are saying Hillary in 2008, but did people forget about Gore?

A Gore-someone vs McCain-Powell/Guiliani ticket would be quite interesting indeed.

Oh geez. The Ohio secretary of state is on CNN, explaining that they won't count absentee/provisional for 11 days. He says it's the law. I sure hope I'm misunderstanding him.

Unless Iowa or WIsconsin break soon, I might as well go to bed. I don't think I'm gonna see concessions and celebrations tonight, which is regrettable.
