Just curious how much hard drive space people have in there Mac (total for all Mac's owned).

For me in my Beige G3, I have 80GB+120GB. How much space do you have?

Count all Macs you own and are using (no dead mac's please).

Then post with the seperate hard drives specs for each Mac etc.

I accidentally voted for 2-6GB because I thought the question was "how much free hard drive space do you have?" I actually have a 30GB drive in my iBook and a 6GB drive yoinked from a Pismo, so 36GB total. I'm looking to get another external FireWire case and an IDE hard drive. Anyone have a lead on a nice, cheap drive?

Well, HDs cost so much.. so I only have a QS 867.. 1.1 GB RAM.. stock GeForce 2 MX, PCI Radeon

Hmm, partitions.
the 240 gig RAID volume :
"Swap" - for VM, scratch..
"ARG" - after a girl I knew in high school.. it the system drive, general user files and such, apps, games, anime
the 400 gig RAID volume :
"TBD" - my initials, has music on it, some anime
"HYJ" - gf's initials, lots of anime, archived vidoe projects
60 gig external :
"Ford" - (hitchikers is excellent) backups of important data, OS 9, OS X (for repairing the system drive if necessary)

I just recently got the 2 200 gigs, so there is a lot of free space at the moment (330 used), but when one purchases for RAID one has to buy in pairs, I should be set for a little while now

220 total

My original 20gig Maxtor (5400) partioned 4 ways (back when i was crazy) got a parition of music, games, OS 9, OS X.

an 80 gig Seagate partitioned 2 ways, a 34 gig and a 40 gig. one has OS X and the other pics and some DV and movies.

120 seagate (8 meg cache) split 2 ways 76 gig, that holds my 43 gigs of DVD rips and other movies, along with my 17 gigs of music. The 43 giger has 'educational films" and a back up of my digi cam pics.

i would like a nother 120 but i got no free IDE slots or power connectors. so it will be a long time befor i get another cause i hate haveing another firewire case sitting next to me (CD burner)

I GOT WASTED WITH PHIL SHERRY!!!

iBook 10GB
iMac 80GB
beige G3 120GB Maxtor ($80 at Best Buy... good enough for me) + 8GB drive that came with the computer

Except for my iBook's semi-lack of mp3s, I have no complaints

Why are you using a pee-cee for DV? Macs are better, you know, for that.

iMac # 1 - 20 GB
Firewire HD - 40 GB
iMac #2 - 10 GB
Performa 6300 - 1 GB

A suggestion for anyone who is running out of space (and has a free Firewire port) - get a decent Firewire enclosure and a new hard drive. The enclosure will run you about $80, and hard drives at sale prices will cost you less than a dollar a GB.
