I was wondering what the best birthday present you ever received was?

The has got to be some people out who have received some kick-ass stuff. (Along with the garbage that you never wanted.)

I think mine was my Graphite iBook that I bought for myself last year.
(Hey, being independant does have it's drawbacks. Gotta buy yourself the good presents!)

This year, I went a lot cheaper, and got myself OS X. (I'll have to see what, if anything, my family got me later today. Probably some Pez.)

So, What was your best present??

(PS, I'm 22. Whoo Hoo, 3 more years until Cheap Car Insurance!!)

In Australia (when I was a lad) the most important birthday was your 21st.

My parents had my 21st birthday party in a Japanese garden and gave me a couple of nice presents but the best one by far was a large pot filled with 2000 $1 coins (they're gold coloured) - literally I had been given the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

It must have taken them a long time to get that many $1 coins. My parents are the *best*.

Hm... my best birthday present was the presence of One very special person, and all that goes with that.
That was my latest bday, btw.

Material things? My burner

for my 18th birthday i was in japan,
and my friend's grandfather took the two of us to an incredible dinner,
and then we (my friend and i) spent the night in a hotel...
it was amazing.

i had only met the grandfather a week before, and...

honored is the only word that fits.

A duct tape ring from a really close friend. (It was her way of asking me out.) And she gave me a DiscMan. I thought that was pretty cool, too.

The best birthday present I ever received was a 1997 Ford Expedition for my 21st birthday a few years back. I woke up that morning and my parents invited me over for lunch. When I got there, the beast was sitting in the driveway just waiting for me. My parents rock

Yeah, about those TPS reports, didn't you get the memo?

My Dad gave me a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date-Just for my birthday last month. I feel strange walking around in uniform with a Rolex on. Not too many enlisted people in the Navy have one of those I imagine!

Okay, my best b-day present was on my 22nd. I was a senior in college and I was a bit of a friend of the marijuana at the time. One of my roomates was having his 21st birthday (That alone was pretty cool, my roomate having the same birthday) My other friends baked a cake and somehow inserted a glass bong into the cake. Only the mouth piece and the bowl stuck out. Instead of blowing out candles, I got to take bong hits off my cake. Looking back I realize it was a real stoner thing to do, but at the time I thought it was really cool.

The best present I've ever gotten was a surprise party at a karaoke bar in NYC (I think it's called Village Karaoke, near NYU... for those who live in the area). People I hadn't seen in years came by... lots of fun!

Or, perhaps, a few years ago when I was brought for a night on the town in the City which ended with a midnight screening of Rocky Horror.
