I'm looking for a replacement second NIC for my server. It is running OS X. I like this card because its cheap and so small, but it doesn't specifically list OS X Compatability. Does anyone know if it works anyway? Or, anyone know of any other cheap PCI cards that do work with X?

hmm goto netgear's site or the company site of a NIC that you're looking for and look for drivers.

I'll have to check my card at home. I have a belkin but I'm not sure what the model number is. I had to get one after the one in my beige died but the nice thing was that it worked natively in OS X without any drivers necessary...

I know Asante makes OS X compatible NICs, and I think Amazon sells them cheap... Might be cheaper places.

Checked the card at home and it appears I had confused my Firewire (Belkin made this) card and my Ethernet card. The ethernet card is a Farallon PN996 that's not made anymore ever since Proxim acquired Farallon.

Sorry about the confusion...

Any cheap LAN card based on the Realtek 8139 chipset will work on your Mac (OS 9 & X). Drivers are available at Realtek's website, www.realtek.com.tw.
